Adam Levine Performs Emotional Tribute To Honor Christina Grimmie

Well, I definitely didn’t expect to start my Wednesday off by ugly crying but here I am.

Last summer the world lost a rising star, Christina Grimmie. She was shot by a crazed man who called himself a fan, and she was shot right outside of her venue. When all of this happened, I remember worrying that footage would be released because people had to be snapping photos and taking videos of the singer but luckily, none were.

If you can remember Christina Grimmie was on Adam Levine‘s team when she was on ‘The Voice’ and the two seemed to have a great relationship. Even after she passed away, Adam paid for all of her funeral costs to try and take some burden off of the family.

Last night Adam paid tribute to the late singer in front of her family.

Watch Ciara Pay Tribute To Whitney Houston

Five years ago today the world lost one of the best vocalists of all time, Whitney Houston. There have a been a lot of different dedication type posts but Ciara ‘s is absolutely one of my favorites.

I don’t know how she does it. She is out there pregnant as hell but she can still dance better than I could even dream of dancing. Even though I think that Ciara and Russell are corny as hell it seems like they have a lot of fun together.

Whitney, we miss you. Ciara thank you for this spectacular dance tribute.

Iman Shares Tribute To David Bowie On His Birthday

Almost a year ago to the date the world lost a star named David Bowie. He was an artist that was continuously changing and gave the world so much.

Today would have been David’s birthday and his longtime love Iman posted a simple drawing to honor her late husband.

The couple were married from 1992 until he passed away in early 2016.

Watch Elton John Perform Emotional Tribute Dedicated To George Michael

Elton John and George Michael l had been great friends for many years before George’s passing earlier this week. The two of them had shared the stage together and even off stage spent a lot of time together.

As most people know George passed away this week due to heart failure and Elton had already taken to Twitter to say how much he will miss his friends. He is also performing at George’s funeral and last night he dedicated a song to the late singer.

The legendary singer opened his Las Vegas show with “Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me”, a song that he sang with George on stage.

It was clear that Elton was emotional but the show must go on.

Kimberly J. Brown Writes Touching Tribute To Debbie Reynolds

If you were a kid in the 90’s there was one thing that you loved, Disney channel original movies. There are a few that I remember like ‘Brink’ and ‘The Color Of Friendship’ but there is one that seemed to outshine them all. ‘Halloweentown’ was one of the best Disney channel original movies and I think most people would agree.

The movie starred Kimberly J Brown who was in many Disney Channel original movies, and the legendary Debbie Reynolds. Debbie played the grandmother who loved magic and all things Halloween.

Today, Debbie took to Facebook to write an emotional tribute to her on screen grandmother.

What do you say about a woman who had such an impact on your life both professionally and personally?

Debbie lived her life like all of us should, to the fullest. She was bold, funny, and had the biggest heart.
Her sparkly smile warmed every room she was in, and her jokes about her amazing career and life would make your stomach hurt with laughter.
Making people happy through her performing was her favorite thing to do, and she showed me at a young age what a gift it is to be able to do that for people. She was so talented and wise, which easily could have gone to her head, but instead she went out of her way to help others shine as brightly as they could. She’d try to move huge ladders on set just to help the crew, and looked out for every actor no matter the size their role. Her humility, grace, and care for others inspired me so much as a teen and is something that will always stay with me.

“Being normal is vastly overrated” is a quote from “Halloweentown,” and how fitting it is that her character spoke it. Her generosity, talent, and loving spirit made her anything but normal. Thanks for the magic, Debbie. Rest in peace. (credit)

Paul McCartney, Elton John, Madonna. And More Mourn George Michael

It’s pretty clear that with the loss of George Michael the music industry has taken a real hit. This year we have lost Prince, David Bowie in the music department. Other legends like Muhammad  Ali, Alan Rickman , Alan Thicke, Gene Wilder, and Florence Henderson have all passed away as well.

Let’s be real, 2016 has been a dumpster fire of a year.

We need a good 2017, okay? I am throwing that into the universe.

Of course though, with George Michael passing away, celebrities took to Twitter and Facebook to mourn the loss of this legendary musician.

Ariana Grande Performs Whitney Houston Medley on ‘Greatest Hits’

Although I do believe that Ariana Grande is really unlikable she can sing. She does have a voice and she did a great job honoring Whitney Houston, I think that we can all agree with that.

‘Greatest Hits‘ is seriously my favorite show of the summer. Nothing like watching old and new perform together and do incredible duets, or just bring back nostalgia.

Can we also take a minute to appreciate how incredible Whitney’s songs were and agree that she left this world far too early. Thank you for all the songs Whitney.

Before people start to compare….Ariana is not the next Whitney.

Tori Kelly Records Song In Honor Of Christina Grimmie

As most people know, Christina Grimmie was tragically gunned down outside of her concert in early June. She was shot by a deranged fan and died due to her injuries. A truly awful and disgusting tragedy of a life taken far too soon.

Many people have reached out and done performances, songs, and poems in honor of the late singer.

Tori Kelly is the most recent to do so.

Sometimes where words fail, music speaks, and this is definitely one of those moments. Please take a minute to listen to her beautiful song “Blink Of An Eye”.

this song was written for Christina Grimmie after she passed away tragically. i needed to write this song. thank you to my good friend, zac poor, who was brave enough to take on the challenge of writing it with me. my heart was & is still so heavy when i think of her not being with us. however, i am still comforted knowing that i’ll get to see her again someday in heaven. my prayers go out to her family & loved ones.

even though this song had specific meaning, more recently i‘m overwhelmed at the pain & the brokenness in the world today, & so this is really just me grieving. at all of it. life is so short.

Selena Gomez Gives Emotional Performance Dedicated To Christina Grimmie

As most people know, Christina was killed in by a fan on Friday night in Florida. Many celebrities and fans have been opening up about Christina and what she meant to them. Artists from Bieber to Charlie Puth to Twenty One Pilots have taken time out of their concert to at least mention the young singer taken far too early in her life.

What most people don’t know is that Selena Gomez and Christina were extremely close. Right when Christina became a Youtube sensation Selena’s stepfather signed on to be her agent, so Selena was close with her from there on. Christina also sang back up for Selena, along with opening for her on her last tour.

Last night in Miami, Selena performed a beautiful tribute to her friend.

May everyone in Christina’s life, friend, family, and fans all heal from this tragic loss.

Why Did Everyone Hate Madonna’s Prince Tribute?

Everyone is being so extra salty towards Madonna for her Prince tribute. That’s right, people are ripping apart a performance that Madonna put on for one of her peers who passed away. One of her peers that she was fairly close with from what reports have said. After his tragic death it was reported that Prince and Madonna almost went on tour together but both decided that the world wasn’t ready for the kind of royalty that was going to be on one stage!

Many people were wondering if Madonna had the ability to sing or perform in a way that would honor Prince. Uhm, what? Do these people even hear themselves? Madonna is one of the greatest entertainers of our time, I am pretty sure that she has the chops to perform a tribute to just about anybody!

BET was the first out there to throw out some shade towards Madonna and the award show.

There is no way that you can please everybody but Madonna put her heart into the performance. She lost a friend and she wanted to give him a tribute even though I am sure she knew that there would be plenty of negativity to follow, she just didn’t give a shit. That is why we love Madonna, she doesn’t care what anyone thinks.

One of my favorite posts of the night about the whole Madonna performance had to come from a twitter user named Dexter, it is insanely well put together and thought out.

The backlash against Madonna doing a Prince tribute at Billboard really doesn’t make sense considering the awards are about commercial chart performance. Madonna is the only living peer of Prince’s commercial success and ubiquitous cultural influence.

If you want to argue that any Prince tribute at the Billboard awards is disrespectful because of his disdain for the music industry that makes sense. But being upset that Madonna was chosen to sing in tribute of her peer/collaborator/friend at the Billboard Awards is silly.

All award ceremonies are just celebrations of capitalist success so to assume there is any artistic imperative is an illusion you are buying into to jerk off your own ego. ✌🏻️ @DexforBreakfast
