I have no words, there are truly no words when it comes to how beautiful Taraji’s speech was last night at the MTV Movie and TV awards.

Yeah, I think that the title basically says it all because watching grown men channel their inner Cher for ‘Clueless’ is really all that you need on this Wednesday.
W Magazine always puts together the weirdest but best video mashups of actors reading different songs or monologues, it’s really perfect. Well this time around the asked some of Hollywood’s hottest leading men to read Cher’s iconic speech in ‘Clueless’.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I needed to see Andrew imitate a girl from the Valley but now I need more.

Eliza Dushku, bravo. That is really all that I can say. I give this woman so much credit for opening up about her drug addiction and alcoholism. The fact that she never even spoke about it before until this moment? I give her so much credit for working through her addiction struggles.
Today (March 7th) Eliza spoke at the NH Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness.
One of the most powerful parts of this speech in my opinion was her saying, “I loved the first time I took a drug because I loved how it made me feel, I loved the way it made me not feel and I didn’t have to feel. It was fun and I loved it until it wasn’t”.
That is some real life feelings.
I have to give Eliza a lot of credit, I know I said that earlier but this is brave. She is using her platform for an amazing reason.

Last night the movie ‘Hidden Figures’ stunned everyone by winning the best cast ensemble statue. Most people were thinking it would go to ‘La La Land’ but it looks like the Screen Actors Guild decided that this movie was more deserving!
This movie is clearly about women who were not given credit for all that they did to help send a man to the moon. I do love that she said the movie is about unity though, that’s an important message that shouldn’t be lost.
“They didn’t complain, they focused on solutions.”
Taraji P. Henson , you’re incredible. This speech was beautiful and it was so important, we needed it right now.

Selena Gomez is really freaking likable. That is really all that I can say, even when I didn’t like her for going back to Bieber all of those times, I still like her. She is one that I am always low key rooting for even though her singing voice may not be the best, there is just something about her.
As many people know Selena decided to take a break this upcoming year, but made an exception to go to the AMAs and her award for the best pop female vocalist, or whatever it was.
Taking the stage though, Selena made a statement. I think that it is an important one too.

Honestly, I think that this speech can really go out to a lot of people. Letting yourself down is the absolute worst feeling and it is important to take time to yourself.
Also shout out to Selena’s team for letting her take a break, for letting her take time to herself. They aren’t treating her like a machine like how Britney was treated and that’s pretty awesome.

One of the first things I thought when I saw Kobe coming up on stage to give Justin his award was, are they really friends? I am still wondering if they are actually friends. Kobe looked less than impressed the entire time that Justin was up there, so who knows?!
Justin deserves this award, I will say that. I don’t think any other artist other than Beyonce has had the impact on entertainment like Justin has. Of course there have been game changers like Lady Gaga and Adele, but Justin is in a league of his own. We can all agree with that. He also dressed like a dad, to remind us that he is old enough to receive an award like this.
Justin’s speech was great though, I think that everyone can agree with that. Giving a speech about acceptance is important right now. There is a lot of hate in this world and maybe teaching the younger generation to not hate anyone will help in the future, just maybe.
Congrats to Justin though, and I can’t wait to hear new music. I am also glad he kind of gave up on his acting career.

If you have followed Demi‘s career at all, you know that she has been very open with her struggles with mental illness. She has opened up about being diagnosed bipolar and has gone to Capitol Hill multiple times over the past few years to speak about better treatment for mental illness.
Tonight she stood in stage at the Democratic National Convention and again, spoke about mental illness and personally I think she did great. She has come a very long way and it is important to recognize that. She also belted out ‘Confident’, one of her many hit singles.
There’s not much more to say other than Demi did a great job with her speech and with her performance, something she should be proud of.

If you remember late last month Jesse Williams gave a very powerful speech at the BET Awards, and well, now everyone is mad. Well not everyone, just some dumb ass people who watch ‘Grey’s Anatomy‘ and have nothing better to do than start a petition that they think Shonda or anyone at ABC will actually take the time to read.
What are people thinking, I mean really? Honestly Jesse’s character Jackson Avery was pissing me off these last two seasons, so I mean if it was based solely on his character, I could understand that. It isn’t though. It has nothing to do with his performance, it is all about his speech. A speech that he put together about equality, and the systemic racism that is in America.
This specific petition has over 7,000 signatures which I am not surprised about. There are many hateful people in this world.
I promise that this is just making you look back, you meaning whoever created that petition. I feel sorry for you, you have far too much time on your hands.
Shonda did acknowledge this petition in one simple tweet.

Last night Jesse Williams won the Humanitarian Award and used his platform to put out a powerful message about racism in America. It sounded like a spoken word poem and let me tell you something, I had chills the entire time.
Just watch because I don’t even know how I could write something that would do his speech justice at all.

Last night Celine was honored with the icon award at the Billboard Music Awards, an award that this strong female vocalist absolutely deserves for her work. She has put out hit after hit, she opened the flood gates by having her own show in Vegas and she is kind. I have truly never heard a bad thing about Celine, I have always heard that she takes time out with fans and has never had much controversy surrounding her. Over the past year she has not only lost her brother but her longtime husband Rene.
Obviously her performance was absolutely flawless, Celine is someone who can command a stage with simply her presence. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when she finished and then something happened. Her son was invited out on stage to give her the away and then there definitely wasn’t a dry eye in the house.
Celine Dion is more than just an icon she is a true legend and there aren’t many of those left. Artists who demand your attention right when they step on stage, artists that were able to navigate the business before social media which makes it easier for artists and their rise.
The show must go on Celine, and you are doing an incredible job with it.
