Sophia Bush is my favorite, that is really all I need to say. If you have read this blog at all though I have a feeling that you probably already knew that. ‘One Tree Hill’ is also one of my favorite shows of all time, I could probably tell you everything about each episode. I watched that shit for nine years, of course I know!

Well today Sophia Bush did a dramatic reading of old ‘One Tree Hill’ clips for Cosmopolitan and it is probably my favorite thing on the internet today.

Honestly the only bad thing about this clip is that it isn’t longer.

‘One Tree Hill’ Quotes That Still Matter 5 Years After The Series Finale

Image result for one tree hill

On April 4, 2012 the world said goodnight to ‘One Tree Hill‘. Arguably one of the best teen dramas to ever grace television. Even if you didn’t watch the show while it aired, there is a good chance that you watched it on Netflix, just to check it out of course.

There are some shows that just stick with you, they stay with you while you grow and in way you feel as though the show grows along with you. That is ‘One Tree Hill’ for me. There were moments where I felt so alone then would hear a quote on ‘One Tree Hill’ and it was like someone else got it.

Honestly, I was obsessed with the show. My mom and I flew down to North Carolina to meet the cast for my 16th birthday. It was pretty insane.

Between the love triangles, the heartbreaks, and every weird stalker storyline, this show had heart. It was a little show that was on the break of cancellation but somehow was able to stick it out for 9 season. Sure it lasted too long, the last two seasons sucked, but it still had heart.

So here are some of my favorite quotes from the show, just because sometimes you need to hear them.

“At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men, at war with good. And some are good, struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes — all you need is one.”

“We fell in love, and at some point, the people we love forgot to love us back.”

“Death is not the greatest loss in life. The greatest loss is what dies inside of us while we live.”

“Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty, this hatred, how did it find us? Did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us that we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war, hoping for their safe return, but knowing that some would be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows. Swallowed whole by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name? Is it your name?”

“That pain in your stomach, that pain in your heart, it goes away. That voice in your head that’s saying there’s no way out, it’s wrong Jimmy. Would you please, please just believe me. It gets better.”

“There comes a time when every life goes off course. In this desperate moment you must choose your direction. Will you fight to stay on the path while others tell you who you are? Or will you label yourself? Will you be honored by your choice? Or will you embrace your new path? Each morning you choose to move forward or to simply give up.”

“Yes, losing your hearts desire is tragic but gaining your hearts desire? It’s all you can hope for, this year I wished for love… to immerse myself in someone else and to wake a heart long afraid to feel. My wish was granted and if having that is tragic then give me tragedy, because I wouldnt give it back for the world.”

“One day, you’re 17 and you’re planning for someday. And then quietly, without you ever really noticing, someday is today. And then someday is yesterday. And this is your life.”

So thank you ‘One Tree Hill’ for giving those who watched while we were filled with teenage angst hope.

For the record I always think I am as dark and broody as Peyton but I think I am a solid mix of Peyton and Brooke, even though Rachel will always be my favorite.

As for guys on the show? I will take Jake any day over the Scott brothers.

Muhammad Ali Dies At 74

Whether you are a sports fan or not, there is a good chance that you respect Muhammad Ali for his athleticism and well charisma.

Ali was known for his fancy foot work, quick hits, and his trash talk during his time as a boxers.

Let me just say one thing, he was not only one of the greatest boxers of all time but I will go out on a limb and say that he is one of the greatest athletes of all time. The first of his kind really. He will never be copied, a true original.

Rest in peace to ‘The Greatest of All Time’.

Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee.

He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.

I know where I’m going and I know the truth, and I don’t have to be what you want me to be. I’m free to be what I want.

Harper Lee, Author Of ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’Dies At 89

Today we say goodbye to one of the greatest writers in American history. Harper wrote ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’ in 1960 which she had great success with and released the sequel Go Set A Watchman was released in 2015.

To Kill a Mockingbird has sold over 30 million copies worldwide.

Harper Lee also received a Pulitzer Prize for her novel.

Most people are aware of how private she was, the other residents in the town of Monroeville, Alabama were also very protective of her. She rarely gave interviews and kept to herself.

She will be greatly missed.

Real courage is when you know you’re licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and see it through no matter what.
You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view.
The one thing that doesn’t abide by majority rule is a person’s conscience.
Until I feared I would lose it, I never loved to read. One does not love breathing.
I think there’s just one kind of folks. Folks.

‘One Tree Hill’ Premiered 12 Years Ago Today!

Let’s be real, ‘One Tree Hill’ is easily one of the greatest teen dramas to come out in the history of television. I know that is a pretty big statement to make, but I am making it. I would say that the top five go as follows. ‘Dawson’s Creek’, ‘The O.C.’, ‘One Tree Hill’. ‘Gossip Girl’, and ‘Friday Night Lights’. That’s my list take it or leave it.

Anyway, twelve years ago the little show that could started and nine years later it ended. The show that was almost cancelled after five episodes was able to make such a splash it went for nine long seasons. Of course, some may say that the show went on way too long, but hey, not the point.

For fun, here are some of the greatest quotes from the show that inspired so many people.

“There’s no shame in being afraid. Hell, we’re all afraid. What you gotta do is figure out what you’re afraid of because when you put a face on it, you can beat it. Better yet, you can use it.”Coach Whitey Durham

“You ever heard the expression ‘The best things in live are free.’ Well that expression is true.’ Every once in a while, people step up they rise above themselves sometimes they surprise you and sometimes they fall short. Life is funny sometimes. It can push pretty hard but if you look close enough, you can find hope in the words of children, in the bars of the song and in the eyes of someone you love. And if you’re lucky, if you’re the luckiest person on this entire planet, the person you love decides to love you back.” Nathan

“Truth is still absolute. Believe that. Even when that truth is hard and cold, and more painful than you’ve ever imagined. And even when truth is more cruel than any lie.”Lucas

“You can choose to blame your circumstances on fate or bad luck or bad choices. Or you can fight back. Things aren’t always going to be fair in the real world. That’s just the way it is. But for the most part, you get what you give. Rest of your life is being shaped right now. With the dreams you chase, the choices you make, and the person you decide to be. The rest of your life is a long time. And the rest of your life starts right now” Haley

And sometimes — all you need is one.” Peyton

And one of my absolute favorite quotes from my favorite episode 3×16

“Does this darkness have a name? This cruelty, this hatred, how did it find us? Did it steal into our lives, or did we seek it out and embrace it? What happened to us? That we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war… Hoping for their safe return… But knowing that some will be lost along the way. When did we lose our way? Consumed by the shadows, swallowed whole by the darkness. Does this darkness have a name? Is it your name?”

Remembering Robin Williams On His 64th Birthday

Last year we lost one of the best actors for the past at least three decades. Robin Williams was a one of a kind actor that like many others I grew up with. I know him as the voice of the Genie then on to movies like ‘Jack’, ‘Good Will Hunting’, and ‘Flubber’ just to name a few, a very few. Obviously his list of credentials is a long one and many of his movies will go down as being some of the best dramas and comedies of all time. Robin’s ability to bring such happiness and light to the screen was a true gift. I am proud to be able to say that I grew up in a time where I got to see Robin Williams act.

Here are a few of his best roles, and quotes, in my own opinion of course.

– No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world. Robin Williams
– If women ran the world we wouldn’t have wars, just intense negotiations every 28 days. Robin Williams
– If Heaven exists, to know that there’s laughter, that would be a great thing. Robin Williams
– What’s right is what’s left if you do everything else wrong. Robin Williams

‘Mean Girls’ Turns 10 Today!

ImageToday is a day that must be celebrated in all of its glory, it is the day that all ‘Mean Girls’ fans can come together as one and hold hands and preach about our love to this movie. There are always the fake fans though. The ones who only know quotes like “On Wednesdays we wear pink” or “Get in loser we’re going shopping” some of the most popular quotes. You have to really dig into the movie, “’Cause she’s a life ruiner. She ruins people’s lives.” I mean you can use  that one every single day if you try hard enough!

‘Mean Girls’ defined a generation in my opinion, it proved that Tina Fey can run the world. It was at an easier time when Lindsay Lohan was beautiful and not on drugs. When Amanda Seyfried was only known for wanting Taco Bell and being able to predict when it was already raining! When Rachel McAdams wasn’t so fucking annoying and when Lacey Chabert, well she is still pretty perfect. This was also before Lizzy Caplan got ridiculously hot but she did and that is great too!

For the past years I have done my best to quote this movie on a daily basis, some days I would fall short and other days I would rise above and use more than one quote a day!

I will also fight you on the fact that Regina George is the worst movie villain of all time, worse than any of them. Worse than leather face, Jason, Jack Nicholson in ‘The Shining’ , any of them!

So today we bask in the glory if the most quotable movie of all time!

Also these are the five best quotes from the entire movie in no order of course how could I even do that? It’s like a picking a favorite child.

1) “You smell like a baby prostitute.”

2) “If you’re from Africa, why are you white?”

3) “Word vomit, no, actual vomit”

4) “I guess it’s probably because I’ve got a big lesbian crush on you! Suck on that.”

5) “Gretchen, I’m sorry I laughed at you that time you got diarrhea at Barnes & Nobles. And I’m sorry for telling everyone about it. And I’m sorry for repeating it now.”

God love ya!
