Brie Larson Opens Up About Not Clapping For Casey Affleck At The Oscars

Remember last month at the Oscars when it made headlines that Brie Larson didn’t clap for Casey Affleck? Well today, Brie kind of explained why she didn’t clap.

The only thing is that Brie is one of the classiest people in Hollywood so she didn’t exactly say why she didn’t clap. All she said was what she had to say to explain it. It wasn’t like she went into an in depth answer.

When Brie was asked about the moment in Vanity Fair, she simply had this answer. “I think that whatever it was that I did onstage kind of spoke for itself, I’ve said all that I need to say about that topic.”

That my friends is how you answer a question with class.

I still love the move that Brie pulled, fucking incredible.

The Best Dressed Women Of The 2017 Oscars!

Hey everyone! We are so happy to be back guest blogging for Celebrities Are Tragic! This is always such a fun thing for us to do and we love the fashion of any award show, but something about The Academy Awards is just so magical.  We were surprised this year by the lack of dresses that we loved. There were plenty of ones we didn’t like but we like to spread fashion positivity  because those women felt beautiful, so who are we to tell them they’re not?!  We kinda wanted to do a best dressed after party list because that is where the fashion was! We did include on look from an after party so keep on reading to check who made the list! Congrats to all the beautiful ladies who were nominated and who won! As always feel free to follow us on twitter! Thanks Willi Killiams!

5) Elizabeth Banks in Elie Saab

We decided to add in an after party look because we honestly didn’t have many favorites this year, which is shocking because usually everyone brings it! But when we saw this dress we had to give it a shout out! This was the perfect party dress to show up in.  We loved the gold color with all the butterfly and flower appliques looked like they were floating on her dress. It was the perfect combination of fun and sexy.  We loved the shoulder detail and black belt. We were so happy she wore her hair up because when you have a dress like this, you don’t want to take away from it. Overall she nailed it! Best After party dress for sure goes to Elizabeth.

4) Hailee Steinfield in Ralph & Russo.

This dress was so elegant and girly. We were obsessed from the moment we saw it! Her designers had a painter flown in to hand paint the dress while she was in it so the flowers could all be appropriately placed because the fabric was so sheer. That is couture! Her Smokey eye was beautiful and brought the drama. We loved that she kept her hair up to show off the high neckline of the dress.

3) Taraji P. Henson in Alberta Ferretti

She brought the sexy to the red carpet! Everything from the silhouette to the neckline was stunning. It looked black on TV and pictures but it was actually a deep navy blue.  We loved the simple shoes because her necklace was so extravagant. We also loved that she did a bob hairstyle to show off the deep v-neckline and necklace. Loved it!

2) Janelle Monae in Elie Saab

This dress will go down as one of the most iconic Oscar dresses in history. She looked like a regal queen floating on the red carpet. There was so much detail in this dress. We loved the bodice, it was totally giving us Halle Berry  vibes circa 2002 when she won her Oscar. The sheer fabric with the lace beaded appliques were stunning. Hair and makeup was on point! She has dream eyebrows that we all want!

1) Viola Davis in Armani Prive

SO beautiful. Everything about this dress was amazing. The silhouette, the color, the neck line. Just perfection! Her hair and makeup was flawless. This was a dress to win in! Aside from looks, her speech was so inspiring and she moved us to tears! Congrats Viola, we love ya!

Mindy Kaling & BJ Novak Couple Up At The Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Image result for kelly and ryan the office

Mindy Kaling has written about her complicated friendship with BJ Novak. During ‘The Office’ the two were kind of dating but also weren’t, they were the best of friends then would get into insane fights. In my opinion, it seems like they are in love. I don’t know that is just coming from an outsider who is hoping that they are in love because they would be adorable together.

Last night Mindy and BJ coupled up though and went to the annual Vanity Fair Oscars Party.

These two just need to admit their love for one another, it’s that simple. Or they can just keep us guessing, in reality they can do whatever they damn well please. I am rambling, I know but I just really want them together but I also want to be able to support a platonic friendship between two members of the opposite sex. Do you feel me?

Anyway, Mindy posted a few photos of their night out and it will give you all the feels.

Brie Larson’s Reaction To Casey Affleck Winning His Oscar Was Everything

One thing about Hollywood is that it likes to turn a blind eye to assault allegations, especially when it happens with someone elite in their eyes. Someone like Johnny Depp, who was filmed being verbally abusive to Amber Heard, it was still somehow Amber’s fault. Even the music business giving Chris Brown another chance.

So the fact that Casey won will have a lot of backlash due to his sexual assault allegations from 2010. There wasn’t just one woman, there were two separate incidents what all settled out of court.

Both of the assaults allegedly happened on the set of Affleck’s passion project ‘I’m Still Here’. The two women filed separate lawsuits against Casey accusing him of sexual harassment and unwanted physical advances.

Affleck of course denied the accusations and when the parties settled out of court a statement said : “The disputes have been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties and the lawsuits are being dismissed.”

Brie Larson has spent her career advocating for people who have survived sexual assault, and speaks out about it often. Hell last year she won her Oscar for portraying a sexual assault survivor.

Last year she hugged every single sexual assault survivor as they walked off the stage.

So check out Brie’s reaction when she read Casey Affleck’s name then slipped that right back into the envelope.

Brie Larson then definitely didn’t clap for Casey.

Brie, you stood poised and I am proud of your reaction. Casey is a trash human.

I wonder if she will write up a response or anything like that about having to give Casey two awards this season.

Auli’i Cravalho Singing “How Far I’ll Go” Stole The Show At The Oscars

If you didn’t know who Auli’i Cravalho was before, you definitely know who she is now. Last night she teamed up with Lin-Manuel to sing a song from the their hit Disney movie ‘Moana’.

Did I mention that Auli’i is only 16? This girl took the stage like a damn pro and performed better than some seasoned performers I have seen. It was something out of this world, that’s for sure.

Hell she got hit in the head with a flag and didn’t even flinch!

Check out the performance below!

She also posted this photo on Twitter later in the night. How does a 16 year old top performing at the Oscars? Maybe one day she will be up there winning an Oscar, that would be something incredible.

I have on request, please don’t give this girl her own show on Nick or Disney, she deserves better.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Shows Off Baby Bump At 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars Party

c5rtuypuoaahccs

Okay, so Rosie Huntington-Whiteley has never looked bad, she is a super model for a reason.

Last night she showed up to the Vanity Fair Oscars party and in my opinion she was one of my favorite dressed women of the night. The way that the silver looks against her completion. The way that the dress hangs off of her shoulders and just drapes over her baby bump, I love it all!

Rosie looks like a Greek goddess, right? Yeah, I am right.

Jason Statham was there as her date of course and he looked great as well.

Man Crush Monday : Jimmy Kimmel

Image result for jimmy kimmel

I know a lot of people think that Jimmy Kimmel is kind of a dick, but I think that he is hilarious. He isn’t afraid to make jokes and he doesn’t just try and kiss up to whoever he is interviewing, like the other Jimmy does.

Last night I thought that Jimmy did a great job with his hosting duties and it wouldn’t surprise me if he was asked back. Other than the weird Best Picture winner thing that happened last night, Jimmy’s hosting duties went off without a hitch.

Anyone who drops candy and cookies from little parachutes is a friend of mine.

So he did great last night, he kept his feud with Matt Damon alive and was just political enough where it wasn’t overbearing.

Happy Monday, let’s all be strong together since the Oscars went on past midnight last night!

Let me add, that salt and pepper beard was the best decision that Jimmy Kimmel has ever made.

Nick Jonas Looks Super Handsome At The 2017 Vanity Fair Oscars After Party

Last night was of course the biggest night for movies but know what is awesome about when the show ends? Well first of all you can go to bed, but if you’re famous and not an actor, you get to enjoy the after party!

Nick Jonas walked the red carpet at the Vanity Fair Oscars after party.

Let’s be real, Nick is one of the hottest guys in Hollywood. Maybe I should say young Hollywood because I don’t want to compare him to Dwayne Johnson although they will both be starring in the ‘Jumanji’ remake.

He showed up with Demi and his brother Joe, don’t worry, I will cover Demi too, Joe? I won’t cover him. Not sorry.

Check out Nick breaking it down at the party though.

Let’s Talk About The ‘La La Land’ & ‘Moonlight’ Mix Up At The 2017 Oscars

All that I can say is damn, the Oscars as good. This year the show ran super long and started a half hour later than usual so they needed a solid viral moment. Sure having Justin Timberlake perform, having candy fall from the ceiling, those are all good moments, but not great moments.

So how do they make a viral Monday morning moment?

They hand Warren Beatty the wrong card for Best Picture and chaos ensues.

He stood there for a moment and looked at the card then announced that ‘La La Land’ had won Best Picture, but about halfway way through that acceptance speech, it was announced that ‘Moonlight’ had actually won.

The moment was a mess and very Steve Harvey of them to try and pull off. I feel like if they wanted to make a move like that they should have waited at least another year so the Steve Harvey incident wasn’t so fresh in our minds!

This is such a smart marketing move. Again a lot of people probably tuned out because it’s past midnight and most people have to work on Monday, so adding this will make for great water cooler conversation as some call it.

‘Moonlight’ definitely deserved to win, but the producers of this show didn’t need to have it be so dramatic.

Now they will have a viral video of it all happening, it will be the most talked about thing on social media, and all of the entertainment outlets will talk about this moment for the rest of the week. That is a promise.

You aren’t fooling me with this one Oscars! I am onto you and your somewhat smart marketing!
