Lately I have been really into making lists and I won’t apologize for it, they are quick reads and I have fun writing it.

Today I decided to go through the most underrated Backstreet Boys songs of all time. The boys have been a band since 1993 and became known in the United States in probably 1997 or 1998, before that though they were huge in Germany. Quick history of the boys but I am sure that you knew a bit of that already.

Considering they are the best boy band of all time, yes I will argue this with you for the rest of forever, just contact me on twitter, @WilliKilliams, I wanted to give their lesser known songs some love as well.

Everyone knows their classic hits like “I Want It That Way”, “Quit Playing Games With My Heart”, “The Call”, “The One”, “Incomplete”, “Everybody”, the songs that got a lot of airplay and you still want to dance to when you hear it. I don’t blame you for loving those songs.

Let me take you down a trip down other songs you may enjoy and will probably spark some nostalgia. Yes, three of the songs were actually singles but I never felt like they got the attention that they deserved.

For the record, the Backstreet Boys have always been a vocal harmony group, so get ready for all of that beautifulness to come your way.

Florida Georgia Line & The Backstreet Boys Team Up For ‘God, Your Mama, & Me’!

The only thing I have to say about this song is that it is perfect. Nobody bother me for the next few hours while I listen to this song on repeat.

God bless boybands and country duos coming together.

Backstreet Boys and Florida Georgia Line need to create more songs together. My only complaint, not enough Brian but hey, I still love the song.

The Backstreet Boys Announce Duet With…..

If you have followed this blog for a bit, first of all, thank you, second of all, you know that I love the Backstreet Boys. I think that they are some of the best vocalists out there and the nostalgia they bring is absolutely incredible, I just love them.

The boys have been busy posted photos on social media while they record their newest album. According to all of them it is going to be very different than anything they have ever put out, starting with their first single which will be released in August. It will be a duet with none other than Florida Georgia Line. Interesting, right? I think so.

If these boys are going from pop to country, I don’t think that I would hate it that much, maybe they have found a new sound that they want to try. Go for it! That’s what I have to say about that!

So in August we will have new BSB music and it will be a duet with Florida Georgia Line, let’s go!

17 Years Ago ‘I Want It That Way’ Came Out

I think that everyone can agree that ‘I Want It That Way’ changed the way that we listen to pop music. It is by far one of the biggest pop songs of all time. The Backstreet Boys made history with that song. I mean, let’s be real, that song alone makes them better than NSYNC. Yeah I said it!

Anyway, I have to say it is scary to think that seniors in high school at the same age as this song but I will get over it. Thank you Backstreet Boys for cranking out hit after hit for so long. I am glad that I grew up during the prime of pop music.

Are The Backstreet Boys Next For A Vegas Residency?

poster5

ET caught up with A.J. McLean at The Brothers Grimsby premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday, when the 38-year-old singer said the boy band is definitely interested in a Las Vegas residency a la Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.

“We are talking about it. We are looking into it right now and we’ll see,” McLean exclusively told ET. “We’ll see what happens! Right now, we’re actually back in the studio making our ninth album. If anything transpires it’ll probably come after our brand new tour, and I’m doing my very first solo project. There’s a lot of things going on this year.” (credit)

I am both excited and not very excited to hear about this potential for a residency. Most people who has residencies no longer go on tour. I mean Celine hasn’t been on a tour in forever which is a shame because I would drop Adele tickets type money on a Celine Dion show.

Back to the subject though!

I have been to eight Backstreet Boys concerts that have all been within driving distance. The last thing I would want to do is spend an arm and a leg to go see their Vegas show. Although they would probably make a killing off of it. Let’s be real, everyone loves to be nostalgic and with the success of Britney’s show, I don’t think they would have any issue selling out show after show.

Luckily for all of us that can’t afford to fly to Vegas it doesn’t look like this residency would be the too near future. They are working on new music, will go on another tour. So don’t worry, we have time to save up for a Vegas weekend. I don’t know who we is, but I am going to assume it will be a we type of thing because I would die if I went to Vegas alone.

One thing is for sure, as long as there is music Backstreet Boys will be coming back again!

Movie Review: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of, The Backstreet Boys Documentary

So I will be first to say when it comes to this subject I am extremely bias. I love the Backstreet boys and I have since I was about five years of age. Since then they just bring back a feeling of nostalgia and happiness that I can’t explain. I have seen them eight times in concert, I have met them once, I guess you could call me a mega fan, fan girl, whatever. Below there are some spoilers in the documentary, things that I wasn’t aware of so if you don’t want them ruined, don’t scroll!

The moment that I got the notification that this documentary was downloading onto my Itunes I started to watch it, I didn’t even wait for it to fully load. That is how excited I have been for this to come out. They had talked about it for so long and the date kept getting pushed back, but right when it was released, I watched it! Truthfully I expected something about their rise to fame, I didn’t expect them to be so raw and real, but that was exactly what it was.

As the film starts they go and visit Kevin’s hometown and then Brian’s hometown since they didn’t live far from each other. Even though they have been a band for the past twenty years they had never done this, so why not do it in front of the cameras. It is really interesting to see the boys, well men now I guess, and how they act when they aren’t on stage. Sure they may have been putting on a bit since there was a camera but the emotions seemed so raw and real. When Kevin talks about his father passing away and he breaks down, when Brian explains that he has vocal problems he breaks down. Truthfully there was a lot more crying in the movie than I expected.

There are a few pivotal moments in this movie that I didn’t know happened.

-Howie D was the original lead singer when the band first started, but after Max Martin got a hold of them, it became Brian, Nick, and AJ. Howie only agreed to this final album if he could have more singing than the last albums.

-Nick holds animosity towards Brian because Brian has been the lead singer. There is a huge fight between the two of them, I highly recommend you at least watch that part.

-Brian has vocal chord issues and there is really no cure, his voice comes and goes. This is another big thing that the documentary follows during the hour and a half it runs.

-AJ opens up about his addiction and how he was behaving during the Black and Blue tour.

– Lou Pearlman stole a TON of money from them.

It was honestly a movie that made me love the group even more. As I previously stated the raw emotions that are shown through out the movie are incredible. Watching this band go from basically on top of the world, to not even having a record deal was very interesting. See I knew that they had been dropped but I didn’t realize this last album was basically done being an independent band.

I would rate this movie a five out of five. Being a fan of theirs I am proud that they let their fans get a glimpse into their come up and even their falls after the 2000’s.

Nick Carter Gets Hitched Over The Weekend!

ImageYou know that you are getting older when the heartthrobs from your childhood are getting married. First Justin Timberlake got married and now Nick Carter, the two ultimate hotties of the later half of the 90’s. On April 12th Nick got married to fitness trainer Lauren Kitt in Florida. Guess who else were at this wedding? THE BACKSTREET BOYS!  Yup, Aj, Howie, and Brian were all in attendance and AJ’s daughter was even the flower girl.

Let’s give some congrats to Nick since he turned his entire life around. Not even ten years ago he was all about partying, drugs, and fucking Paris Hilton. He grew out of it though so there is hope for everyone!

I am also glad that Nick finally grew up because DAMN he is looking better with age!

Man Crush Monday: The Backstreet Boys

ImageOops is it wrong to put a band a man crush monday? Maybe! I don’t care though, they just announced another North American tour and let’s be real. I am going and you want to go. These guys still have it after 20 years of singing, they are still incredible singers and look good doing it.

You really can’t beat the combination that is Howie, Nick, Brian, AJ, and Kevin. Well I could do without Kevin, but that doesn’t matter! There is a reason that they are still going and people are still going to see them.

Anyway, go listen to their music because I know you want to right now, and soak in these guys for the amazing way that they sing and perform.
