Dwayne Johnson Might Run For President One Day

Peggy Sirota/GQ

Let me be clear, now that Donald Trump was able to make it into office, there will be more celebrities in office.

Don’t even start with that whole, well Donald is a business man shit, no he has always wanted to be famous that’s why he had reality shows and all of that shit. Don’t start with me, okay?!

Sorry for yelling.

Dwayne Johnson opened up to GQ magazine about a possible presidential run and sure, I will vote for him. Why not? He is clearly a smart businessman and took the right chances in his career to get to where he currently is. Right?

He opened up about the presidential run, Hilary and Donald, along with a few other topics in the interview which you can check out here.

On why he didn’t endorse Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump: “I feel like I’m in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight and influence, which of course is why they want the endorsement. But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the process and felt like if I did share my political views publicly, a few things would happen—and these are all conversations I have with myself, in the gym at four o’clock in the morning—I felt like it would either (a) make people unhappy with the thought of whatever my political view was. And, also, it might sway an opinion, which I didn’t want to do.”

On if he would run for President: “I think that it’s a real possibility. A year ago, it started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’”

On his gym time: “But the biggest reason for this [seclusion] is that my gym time is really the only time I have an opportunity to be away from the public and by myself. So I get a lot of work done in here. Not only training. It becomes my meditation. Nobody bothers me here.”

President Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, has a nice ring to it.

Justin Bieber Talks About Covering Selena Gomez Tattoo

It wouldn’t be an interview unless Justin talked about Selena, right? It is his go to conversation topic. I can remember when he first got the tattoo and everyone was curious if it was a picture of Selena. He never confirmed it until now, of course he didn’t say by name but let’s be real, it’s her.

He explains all of his tattoos though, I know how much ladies love him again so enjoy the shirtless video!

Check Out Taylor Swift’s First GQ Interview!

taylor-swift-gq-115-02.jpg

Now obviously I love Taylor Swift so I am very bias when it comes to what I am about to write. I have been a fan since she first came out and even though I don’t really love all of her new songs I respect her. She is changing the game of music and that is rather impressive, if you don’t think so then you’re crazy.

I actually really enjoyed the whole interview. The writer casually writes about how Justin Timberlake called Taylor and asked to sing “Mirrors” with her. That’s pretty incredible, right?

Here are a few key points of the interview

On the public’s assumption that ‘Bad Blood’ is about Katy Perry: “You’re in a[n] interview, and the writer says, ‘Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life.’ And you sit there, and you know you’re on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don’t want him—or his family—to think you’re firing shots at him. So you say, ‘That was about losing a friend.’ And that’s basically all you say. But then people cryptically tweet about what you meant. I never said anything that would point a finger in the specific direction of one specific person, and I can sleep at night knowing that. I knew the song would be assigned to a person, and the easiest mark was someone who I didn’t want to be labeled with this song. It was not a song about heartbreak. It was about the loss of friendship.”

On media speculation about all of her songs: “I don’t feel there is any injustice when people expand beyond my music and speculate on who certain songs might be about. I’ve never named names, so I feel like I still have a sense of power over what people say—even if that isn’t true, and even if I don’t have any power over what people say about me. The fact that I’ve never confirmed who those songs are about makes me feel like there is still one card I’m holding. So if you’re going to look at your life and say, “I get to play sold-out football stadiums all over the world. I get to call up my favorite artists and ask them to perform with me, and most of the time they say yes. I get to be on the cover of this magazine”—this is all because I write songs about my own life. So I would feel a little strange complaining about how it’s covered.”

On if she ever feels lonely: “I’m around people so much. Massive amounts of people… So then when I go home and turn on the TV, and I’ve got Monica and Chandler and Ross and Rachel and Phoebe and Joey on a Friends marathon, I don’t feel lonely. You know, during the first few years of your career, the only thing anyone says to you is ‘Enjoy this. Just enjoy this.’ That’s all they ever tell you. And I finally know how to do that.”

On if she’s worried her lyrics will be perceived differently than intended: “No. Some of the things I write about on a song like ‘Blank Space’ are satire. You take your creative license and create things that are larger than life. You can write things like I get drunk on jealousy but you’ll come back each time you leave, ’cause darling I’m a nightmare dressed like a daydream. That is not my approach to relationships. But is it cool to write the narrative of a girl who’s crazy but seductive but glamorous but nuts but manipulative? That was the character I felt the media had written for me, and for a long time I felt hurt by it. I took it personally. But as time went by, I realized it was kind of hilarious.”

I love it, I love Taylor the end.

Ryan Reynolds Opens Up About Fatherhood & Betrayal In The Latest Issue Of GQ

ryan-reynolds-1015-cover.jpg

If you want to read the whole article it is here, I would recommend it because it was more interesting than I thought. I have always liked Ryan Reynolds and honestly this is probably the most candid interview I have ever read for him.

In this article he opened up a lot about how much he loves being a dad. I honestly think about him and Blake just walking around being super parents. Just having a gorgeous little girl that looks like both of them, and living the perfect life. Okay, no one has the perfect life but I assume with these two it is pretty close to perfect in their little farm house just outside of the city.

Here are a few excerpts from the article that I found interesting.

On the best friend who betrayed him: “A guy that I’d known for my whole life, one of my closest friends growing up, he had been shopping pictures of my baby around. I kind of got in front of it, which is good. But it was a slightly dark period. A bad couple of weeks… It was like a death. It was like one of those devastating things to find out.”

On why the friend did it: “Just for money. I mean, I don’t think he thought he would ever be caught. But it’s a pretty narrow group of people that I would send photos like that to. They’re just, like, my closest family and my closest friends: ‘Here’s us in the delivery room!’… It was, like, so kind of shocking. There isn’t really a conversation to have. It’s just, ‘Oh, well, now I’m never going to see you or talk to you again, unfortunately.’ That’s kind of how it worked out.”

Were you like, “Next time you need a check, just ask”?: “Well, I think he’d asked for a check enough times where I was like, ‘There’s no more checks to be had.’ ”

On being a father: “I have no problem waking up five times in the middle of the night and changing diapers, and as exhausted as you get, I have this stupid grin on my face all the time. And that’s not because I have a nanny or something like that. It’s just us right now, and I love it”

Can you even imagine? You send one of your best friends a picture of your child and they try and sell the picture. I mean I am all for celebrities not wanting to show off pictures of their kids. Their children are going to have to deal with it forever, it isn’t a big deal if you’d like to keep it private. To have someone who seems to be extremely close do it? That is just beyond fucked up.

I am happy that Ryan is still getting the praise he deserves for his acting, although I would love to see him in some comedies again. ‘Just Friends’ is one of my all time favorite movies, and is more than just a little bit underrated.

Also, I am actually happy those pictures of his daughter James didn’t get leaked because I would probably be jealous of that baby. She was born with perfect genes.

Michael B Jordan Looks Incredible At GQ Super Bowl Party

ImageI think that I can say that I am madly in love with Michael B, Jordan and I wouldn’t want it any other way. He is the new Denzel in my opinion and yeah, he is going to run the world. When I first saw this picture I saw it in a thumbnail and only saw the little GQ. Cool, he made the cover and looks good. No! He is just walking down the red carpet! What?!

Who would have though that little Vince Carter from Friday Night Lights would be the break out star of the show. I always thought that it would be Minka Kelly and Taylor Kitsch, and they have done okay, but nothing like Michael B. Jordan. Apparently the movie ‘That Awkward Moment’ was hilarious and his other movie called fruitful something is incredible too!

I see big things in the future for Michael B. Jordan and you know what, I cannot wait to see him grow and get even more beautiful.

Keep smiling you beautiful man.

Duck Dynasty Drama

Image

Now, I have never seen this show but I know what it is about, hell most people know what it is about. This family got rich by making duck calls and then got famous for having a reality TV show on A&E, really that simple. Apparently people love watching these rich hillbilly’s do family things. They are a close family and their motto is “faith, family. and ducks” at least that was what they said on that Barbara Walters special last night.

Anyway the family has been in some hot water because one of the hillbillies said that he hated gays and that they will all be in hell. He then went on to compare homosexual relationships to bestiality. He also said that he didn’t understand why someone would want an anus over a vagina, and so on and so forth. Now, I am not sure which one of these guys it was in the picture above but I think it is the scary looking mother fucking all the way to the left. So because of these remarks A&E suspended him from the program and now the whole cast refuses to film. I mean there are a few ways to look at this. If people want to make homophobic remarks it is apart of the whole freedom of speech thing, people are allowed to speak their smile in this country. There is also the whole insensitivity thing which can really fuck with people.

I think that A&E should really look at the issue here, look long and hard. This is their most popular show in a long time, people love this family. Now the whole family basically refuses to film for you, it is going to become a problem for you eventually. I think that this is just a really sticky situation. Obviously a guy who lives by the bible according to him though is going to think these thoughts.

If A&E was smart they would just have them bring up the issue on the show and then the show would get their highest ratings ever. That is my thought on the whole thing.

GQ Men of the Year 2013

Image

GQ is one of those magazines that I honestly do not pay much attention to. I feel like they want straight men to read it and use their helpful fashion tips but I don’t think that actually happens. Maybe it does, fuck if I know! Anyway they recently made a top 5 of the men of the year and here you have it.

Matthew McConaughey, Will Ferrell, Justin Timberlake, Kendrick Lamar, and James Gandolfini

First off I will say that I am 300% behind making James Gandolfini one of the men of the year. He pretty much changed television as Tony Soprano and from what everyone says he was an awesome guy. Great actor+awesome guy+ died too soon= GQ man of the year.
Justin Timberlake is also an obvious shoe in for this man of the year award. In the magazine he kind of sounds like a dick saying that he will never give up on acting and gets mad when people say his movies bomb…because they do…Other than that though he deserves it. Growing up I was always a BSB fan but lets be real Justin Timberlake is quickly taking Michael Jackson’s spot at king of pop since he is constantly reinventing himself and the music he sings.
Kendrick Lamar is an alright choice, I don’t really know too much about him but I have heard his music and it is good. He also called out every rapper ever so he has some balls even though he stands at like 5’2.
Will Ferrell- This one I don’t understand, then again I have never understood the whole love of Will Ferrell, he is alright in my opinion but plays the same character in every movie. He is coming out with Anchorman 2 and everyone is getting their panties in a bunch so it makes yet again, I get why they put him on the cover. Having him as himself and as Ron Burgendy is also a genius idea.
Matthew McConaughey, I fucking hate this choice. I cannot stand Matthew McConaughey and I haven’t for years now. I get it you have a weird stoner like southern drawl but why in the fuck is he on this cover? If it is because he didn’t make a sequel to Fool’s Gold then sign me up. Maybe it was because he lost all that weight for some movie that is coming out soon. Whatever it is, he shouldn’t be on this cover. Just sayin’.
