I spent my weekend in Nashville so I basically know everything that there is to know about country music. Well maybe there are still some things to learn but today I learned that Carrie Underwood is now the reigning queen of country music.
Today she officially passed Reba and Dolly who both has 25 number 1 hits, Carrie now has 26 number 1 hits.
Let’s be clear, as much as I love Kelly Clarkson I think we know that Carrie is the best selling artist to come from ‘American Idol’.
Kelsea Ballerini is probably one of the hottest young female singers in country music right now, maybe in all of music. Is this something we are all willing to agree on? I hope so!
Well I just watched her “Legends” music video and now I am ruined.
The video shows the relationship between two people who have a well, legendary love for one another. I would watch an entire movie based on these two, that’s how much this short music video pulled me in.
I have been following Kane Brown for the past few years and let me tell you, he is the real deal. His voice is out of this world and he is a total babe, both very good things.
As most of you know Lauren Alaina came from ‘American Idol’ and has had a pretty good run in the country world.
This song just goes on to showcase both Kane and Lauren’s insane vocal ability. I hope that we get more songs from these two.
I can’t wait to get drunk and sing my heart out to this song.
Country boys, am I right? I mean there is just something about a guy who has that country twang to his voice, have him play guitar, and sing, it’s a great combination. Can we all agree with that? Well, probably not since people either really love country or hate it.
I absolutely love it though, and when you find a great singer you have to tell all of your friends, right?
After doing a bit of research through Facebook I stumbled upon Alec MacGillivray, an up and coming country artist from the Boston area. He was born in Tennessee but he moved up north so he is a country boy with Boston swagger. Those are his words, not mine.
He has already opened for artists like Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, and Frankie Ballard. This summer he will even be joining Sam Hunt for a few tour dates this summer!
Alec already has some serious buzz about his music and I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot of him in the future.
Let me be clear, Stephen Schriner is absolutely incredible. We have followed each other on Twitter for a while now and I have been wanting to do a Music Monday on him, and finally I was able to do so.
Just a few weeks ago Stephen went a bit viral due to his cover of “If I Told You” by Darius Rucker, in fact the man himself gave Stephen props on the cover. That’s right, Darius posted this cover on his Facebook giving Stephen a ton of credit.
I love the cover, I love all of Stephen’s covers and I genuinely believe that he will make it big time in country music.

Tis the season for “Silent Night” covers and I am so glad that Scotty McCreery put one together. Scotty is one of my favorites from ‘American Idol’ and I am so glad that he is still putting out music, good music too.
Tonight he went on his Facebook page and posted a cover of him singing “Silent Night”. This song is one of my favorite Christmas songs and I think that it is probably a favorite for most people. His take on the song is absolutely beautiful.
Covering songs can be difficult, especially when it is a song written and performed by the late, great Johnny Cash. Michael Ray did an exceptionally good job though, there is no question about that.
Michael performed this for the “Forever Country Cover Series”, where country singers of today cover older country songs.
Considering newer country music is a lot different than classic country, it is always incredible when someone from a newer age covers a song perfectly. Michael’s voice is so smooth and when I think of country singers, I think of his voice.

Have you ever heard a singing voice and immediately fell in love with it? Like you don’t even know what the singer looks like but you know their voice alone is beautiful. That is how I feel with Thomas Rhett. Now of course he is a good looking guy but I didn’t even know what he looked like for the longest time but I loved his music and I knew that he had to be a hottie. I wasn’t wrong. Now he is married to his high school sweetheart so I will respect that, but good job on her end. He is one of the most swoon worthy country singers out there right now!
I have to admit, all of these country singers are just getting better and better looking. I think I am going to have to move to the south or something to find me one.
All I can say is that right now ‘Die A Happy Man’ is by far one of my favorite songs out right now. There is just something so amazing about it, so pure and beautiful.
I have a feeling we will be seeing Thomas and is adorable little smile for a long time and I can’t wait to see what else he has in store for us!
Have you ever heard a song and just thought, yes I like this, yes I want to hear this forever? Well this is one of my favorite songs of the moment and probably going to continue out for the rest of the year. I can picture me drunk off Twisted Teas singing this at a bar, or hanging out on a beach. This song makes me feel like summer if that makes sense and I can’t wait!
As most of you know, Casey Weston was a finalist on NBC’s The Voice and now she is going after her own solo career and if it all sounds like this, then it is going to be very good for her!
Really though, this song and the lyrics that are used are so easy to relate to. I feel like everyone has a memory where they could have this song playing in the background.
“I don’t want a thing from you, just some time will do” , easily my favorite line of the entire song.

I am about to sound like a real serious stalker at the moment but I am extremely happy for this couple! Is it weird to say that I have been waiting for this for a while? Probably but I just don’t care! Today on Instagram, Carrie posted this photo of her and her pups announcing that her and her husband of four years Mike Fischer would he expecting a little one of their own. How perfect is this? I mean just look at the adorable little t-shirts that they are wearing!
Truth be told I know that I said that Kelly Clarkson’s child was going to be American royalty but let’s be real. When Carrie has this baby, it will be like Prince George except in the country world. Of course it probably means that there won’t be any new music any time soon which is a bummer, but hey, she has good reason!
I don’t often get excited about celebrity babies just because let’s be real, being pregnant is kind of boring. Yes you are creating a life which is extremely cool but you can’t do anything fun! No trampolines, no alcohol, and no sushi, just craziness! Maybe she can still record music though? Yeah I am still on that subject in case you were wondering.
Anyway, congrats to the happy couple and I wish them nothing but happiness in the nine months, or however long to come! Thanks for being one of my favorite celebrity couples and being adorable!
