Music Monday: “Sushi” – Hoodie Allen

Well it has been a while since I have done a Music Monday post but there was a reason I didn’t write about Hoodie’s song that was released last week, I needed it for this week!

Hoodie Allen is one of my favorite rappers out there, his lyrics are smart, his songs are catchy, and he is a rap Zac Efron. What more could you ask for?

It has been a little while since Hoodie released new music but clearly fans are here for Hoodie’s new music because it has already charted on Spotify and Itunes.

This song was definitely worth the wait, I am a big fan of it. Catchy, fun lyrics, and Hoodie sounds great on it!

I have decided that this year has to be Hoodie’s year for making it mainstream. It seems like he doesn’t really care if he is on a track with Britney or Camila Cabello or anything, but I genuinely don’t think he needs to feature a well known female singer to get those plays. Hoodie can do it all himself.

So check out “Sushi” below and be ready because on September 29th he will be dropping his new album The Hype.

Rihanna Celebrates 10 Years Of ‘Good Girl Gone Bad’

Ten years ago Rihanna released an album the cemented her spot as pop royalty. That’s right, it’s been ten years since she dropped Good Girl Gone Bad, one of her best selling albums to date.

Many of her biggest hits came from this album, like “Umbrella”, “Breakin Dishes” which is an under appreciated bop, “Hate That I Love You”, “Shut Up & Drive”, and “Don’t Stop The Music”.

In reality every single song on that album could have been on the radio and would have been a hit.

In case you haven’t realized, everything that Rihanna touches turns to hit music.

Camila Cabello Announces Debut Solo Album & Song !

Get ready because solo Camila Cabello is coming!

Today Camila took to Instagram to write about her first solo album titled ‘The Hurting The Healing The Loving’. Her first solo song titled “I Have Questions” will drop on May 19th, the same day Liam Payne is dropping his first solo song.

May 19th will be big for former members of bands put together by Simon Cowell, that’s for sure.

The post that Camila wrote though, I don’t know if I fully buy it. She is writing about how she felt so sad and lost and all of that stuff. The way she left Fifth Harmony wasn’t cute, the band put her on blast and it was pretty clear that she did some shady shit. I don’t care what anyone says.

Now she is out there trying to play the victim card, saying she was so sad to be in the group? I am not buying that what so ever. It’s like when Zayn said he quit One Direction because he hated being famous, then decided to be a solo artist, but still says he hates being famous.

Anyway, I am curious to see what Camila sounds like holding a song all on her own instead of simply being a feature. It should be interesting.

Whether or not I think she is shady or not, she definitely has a unique voice.

Britney Spears Releases The Album Baby One More Time 18 Years Ago Today!

It was 1999 and Britney Spears released her debut album Baby One More Time an album that would skyrocket her to super stardom. Say what you will about Britney but she is an absolute icon and she will always be one. People can laugh about her 2007 meltdown or talk about how she lip-syncs but at the end of the day, Britney will always be one of the best to ever entertain in pop music,

It was 18 years ago though that young Britney was hyper sexualized and had to deal with rumors about whether or not she had breast implants. Kind of gross considering she was only 17, right?

This specific album though, it produced some of Britney’s biggest hits. Of course there was “Baby One More Time”, “Sometimes”, “From The Bottom Of My Broken Heart”, and one of my personal favorites “Crazy”.

This album was the perfect debut album and the perfect pop album if you ask me. Britney showed that she had a vocal range and the songs were all amazing.

The album peaked at number 1 on the Billboard charts and went on to sell over 30 million copies world-wide and holds the record for best selling album for any teenage solo artist ever.

It was just the start to her wild ride of a career.

Man Crush Monday : Donald Glover

Whether you know him as Donald Glover or Childish Gambino there is one thing you know about this guy. He is insanely talented. He is a talented actor, rapper, singer, and writer. This man is a visionary, that is something that I am totally sure of.

Donald is currently starring in ‘Atlanta’ which is one of the most talked about new series of the year. He isn’t just starring in it though, he created the damn thing and he is also a writer. Like I said, he is insanely talented in everything that he does. There is a lot of award buzz for the show, but it may be a little bit too new to be nominated, we will see.

He also had time to release a new album under his alter ego Childish Gambino. The critics are raving about it and from what I have listened it is on a whole new level of showing off his talents.

Obviously he is talented and was recently cast in the Han Solo movie, but there is something else that makes him MCM worthy. He is really, really handsome. Look at him. That smile, that jawline, his perfect facial hair, I could go on and on about how hot he is.

Happy Monday and I can’t wait to see more of Donald Glover, Childish Gambino, whatever you want to call him, because he is a visionary and he isn’t going anywhere any time soon!

Stream Lady Gaga’s New Album ‘JOANNE’ Now!

Lady Gaga‘s much anticipated new album’JOANNE’ has officially been released and you can stream it as well! Her new album is actually very good, it’s different, but it’s good. If you didn’t like “Perfect Illusion” that’s fine, there are a lot of other quality songs on the album!

Let’s be real, Gaga has one of the best voices out there and she does a great job reminding us of that on this album.

Singer Emeli Sande Will Drop Her Second Album ‘Long Live the Angels’ Nov. 11th!

If you don’t know Emile Sande, you’ll remember her once I mention her super smash his “Next To Me” that came out a few years ago. Since then she has been pretty quiet but it looks like we are about to get some much needed new music from her! I personally can’t wait!

Emile has one of my favorite voices on the planet, so I am more than excited for this sophomore album to come out!

The album will have 15 songs and if you want to see the list of them, Rolling Stone released them!

I can’t wait, Emile don’t ever leave us with that angelic voice again! Also if you don’t have her first album, go buy it, you won’t regret it.

Guess How Many Copies Of Adele’s New Album ’25’ Sold In It’s First Week

Alright, do you have a number in your head? Do you have a guess on how many copies of ’25’ were sold in it’s first week? I am serious, are you thinking of a number? Alright, good.

’25’ sold 3.38 million copies worldwide in it’s first week. The only other album to ever sell more than two million in a single frame was *NSYNC’s ‘No String’s Attached’ album which sold 2.42 million albums it’s first week.

Pretty incredible right?

I can’t wait until my grandkids ask me what it was like living in the time of Adele because her voice is going to be around for years to come.

One Direction Announces Final Album Name: Made In The AM

Today the guys took to Twitter to let the world know that their final album will be called Made In The AM! Alright now everyone is going to tell me that this isn’t their final album. They are simply taking a break and will be back to make more music. Know who else took a long break but promised to come out with new music? NSYNC, Destiny’s Child, and The Spice Girls. Look how that turned out for those fans.

Directioners I want to just give you some real life advice right now. The group is going to be over. Louis is off to be a dad, Harry is off to be a superstar, and as far as Liam and Niall are going to go. I don’t know. Liam said something about working behind the scenes and Niall, well we don’t know what is in store for that little leprechaun.

So this will be One Directions fourth and final album. No one puts out an album then doesn’t tour after it, no one!

Austin Mahone’s LP “The Secret” Drops Tomorrow!

ImageTomorrow is a big day for pop music everywhere, Austin Mahone is dropping his much anticipated LP entitled “The Secret”! I know Mahomies, it is time to get wild! Sip on some of that Capri-Sun you guys have been drinking and dance to the album. Well it is an LP, I dont really know the difference. I believe that an LP is a shorter version of a CD? I have no idea.

I do hope that there are better songs than ‘Banga Banga’ and ‘Mmm Yeah’, because you can do better Austin! You have a great voice and you can do much better than those songs, just trust me!

Anyway, I will be buying this little LP because I am in love with Austin. I feel like a cougar but it’s cool I don’t mind admitting it.

I will say Austin over Bieber any day!
