What Are Gwyneth Paltrow And Charlize Theron Thinking? Comparing Media To Rape And War?

Image“You come across (online posts) about yourself and about your friends, and it’s a very dehumanizing thing. It’s almost like how, in war, you go through this bloody, dehumanizing thing, and then something is defined out of it,” Paltrow said.

“I don’t (Google myself) – that’s my saving grace,” Charlize Theron stated. “When you start living in that world, and doing that, you start feeling raped.”

There are some mega fans that are saying both of these quotes were taken out of content and you know what? They weren’t. Maybe Paltrow’s was but Theron’s was on tape, so go YouTube that you crazies!

Over the past week two Oscar winning actresses decided to compare fame to terrible things such a war and rape. What in the world possessed these two women to think that saying either is okay? Both of these actresses have said that they are humanitarians and want to change the world for the better. Well, look at you saying that having people Google you is like rape. Having people post nasty comments about you online is like a nasty bloody war? How dare they compare their privileged to others misfortunes.

Imagine being a victim of war, rape, or losing someone to either of those horrible things. Imagine hose those people must be feeling. Really Gwyneth Paltrow, reading harsh comments hurts your feelings? Well okay, that makes sense but to compare it to fighting for a country? You are insane.

Charlize if you don’t want to Google yourself, then don’t. It isn’t anything like rape, it is nothing like having something taken from you never to be given back.

Maybe they should publicly apologize about this, that would make sense right? It won’t happen. Celebrities have said things like this a million times. Like when Mark Wahlberg said he would have stopped the terrorist attacks if he had been one of those planes heading towards the World Trade Center. He didn’t apologize, he just said that the magazine took him the wrong way.

So go hide away in your millions of dollars with your privileged life acting as though what you said was simply taken out of line rather than an actual quote. Act as though you didn’t say anything wrong.

Shame on you two ladies who have such power in Hollywood deciding to compare your “rich people problems” with actual problems. Now go donate money to different charities to hide your mistakes which is exactly what will happen.

  1. Why should they apologise for what they said? America still has freedom of speech, right? Yes, people will say, “There’s freedom of speech, not freedom of consequences!” but forcing someone to apologise for what they said is removing their freedom of speech.

Do I agree with either celebrities statements? No. But as someone said, “I disagree with what you say but I will defend to the death your right to say it.”
